Radam national reverse mortgage conference
Reverse Mortgage Lenders Debate

The Radam reverse mortgage conferences are organized every year to provide a platform for reverse mortgage lenders from all over the country to socialize and share  knowledge. The conference runs for 3 days and is made up of a series of events and conference sessions. One of the programs of the conference is the Lender’s Debate.

The Lender’s Debate is an entertaining and enlightening session held during the conference. Participants for the debate are selected before the conference. This is to allow the participants to properly research on the chosen topics and to properly marshal out their points. Debate topics are usually drawn from aspects of the practice or guidelines associated with reverse mortgages. The aim is to allow for an entertaining intellectual exchange of view points to the benefit of those in attendance. Attributed winners go home with an impressive plaque fit for their office wall.

Usually there are three debate sessions at each Radam reverse mortgage conference. Each debate involves two reverse mortgage experts taking divergent views on a reverse mortgage topic and taking turns 2 times each to marshal out their points. The debate is judged based on uniqueness of points, strength of argument as well as style of presentation. The judges are drawn from other professional reverse mortgage practitioners.

The three topics that would be debated during this year’s Lender’s Debate would be based on the recent global economic crises and how it affects the reverse mortgage industry. The debate would critically mirror the possible adaptations that reverse mortgage would have to take to be relevant. The speakers for this year’s conference are reverse mortgage veterans and can be expected to put forth a lively and educative debate. The lender’s debate among lenders has grown in popularity and is viewed as one of the main highlights of the yearly reverse mortgage conferences.
